This is another brand new smartphone into the smartphones market. It was announced on October 2013 and later released by the South Korean manufacturer Samsung on November the year 2013, it has still to make much round around consumers around the world.

Like any other smartphone from Samsung, it packs some great feature with a major diversion from the conventional designs. This is because it is a flip phone, which was not what most smartphone manufacturers have been going for in terms of design. It has the following features:

Design: Running of Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) operating system. The Samsung l9230 packs a body frame with the dimension of 4.65x.2.34×0.62 inches and weighs in at about 179 g.

Display: It has an internal screen of 3.7 inch Super AMOLED, capacitive touchscreen. The display has a resolution of 480×800 pixels and with a pixel density of 252 ppi. It showcases over 16 million color spectrum. The external screen is 3.5 inches big with a resolution of 480×800 pixels.

Hardware: Under the hood it has a Dual Core 1.7 GHz, Krait Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor with a 1.5 GB of RAM. It is also equipped with 16 GB of internal storage capacity which can be expanded to up to 64 GB using a microSD card.

Camera: It has an impressive rear camera, featuring 8 MP, resolution of 3264×2448 pixels, LED Flash, autofocus, touch focus, smile detection, face detection, and Geo-tagging. It also has a Camcorder featuring 1080p@30fps, and a stereo sound recording feature and last but not least it has a 1.9 MP front camera.

Connectivity and Technology: In terms of technology it can support 2G Network (GSM), 3G Network (HSDPA) and in terms of connectivity. It features GPRS, EDGE, HSDPA, HSUPA, Wi-Fi 802.11, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC and microUSB (USB).

Battery: It is powered by a 1820 mAh battery which for now can’t be vouched in terms of how many stand-by time and talk time it can support given that it is still new in the market and much verifications hasn’t been done on it.

Multimedia: It comes with an FM Radio, music player, YouTube player and it can support the following audio files: FLAC, AC3, WAV, MP3 and eAAC+. While its video supported files are H.263, H.264, WMV, XviD, DivX and MP4 formats.

Other Features: Other feature on this phone are as follows: it has SNS integration, video/image editor, G-Talk, Picasa, Calendar, Voice commands, Voice Dial, Voice Memo, Predictive text input, HTML5 Browser, supports Java applications via MIDP emulator. In terms of messaging, it supports, RSS, IM, MMS, Email, Push Mail and SMS threaded view.

Pros: The Samsung l9230 Golden is a brand new smartphone in the market. It also has a flip-phone design which brings in a refreshing look in terms of current smartphones designing. It also packs some very impressive smartphone features.

Cons: There are not much to be displeased about with this phone, although the Dual Core 1.7 GHz should have been replaces with at least one that is Quad Core for faster application executions.

Verdict: The Samsung l9230 Golden smartphone, is basically a stylish phone with a very refreshing design. Nowadays you will not find many flip phones in the market, even rare is a smartphone with a flip design. So it will be a smartphone with a big statement in terms of design.
