Samsung Galaxy Star Pro S7260The Samsung Galaxy Star Pro S7260 was released on October 2013 to the general consumer market. It came with the following features:

Design: This smartphone comes with an Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean) operating system. It weighs in at 121 grams with a body dimension of 4.77×2.47×0.42 inches. It comes in color option of black and white.

Display: It has a 4 Inched TFT capacitive touchscreen, with the ability to show more than 16 million colors. The screen’s resolution is 480×800 pixels with a pixel concentration of 233.

Hardware: Under the hood it tacks away a 1 GHz Cortex-A5 processor, coupled by a 512 MB RAM making it a fairly entry level smartphone in terms of processing powers. It also has a 4 GB internals storage capacity and a 32 GB external memory capacity via a microSD card.

Camera: It has a 2 MP camera with a 1600×1200 pixels resolution with video recording capability. However it doesn’t have a front camera.

Connectivity and Technology: In terms of technology it can support the 2G Network ( GSM). It comes with the option of Dual SIM stand-by mode.

Battery: It packs a 1500 mAh Li-Ion battery that can power the smartphone for up to 370 hours on stand-by, up to 15 hours on talk time and up to 26 hours of music playback.

Multimedia: It has a music player that arranges your music library in terms of playlists, artists and albums. The music player can also showcase the music’s album art covers as well as being able to play in the background. It also has FM Radio with RDS as well as FM recording capabilities. The music player supports the following audio files: eAAC+, MP3 and WAV. It also can play video files of the following formats: H.264, MP4 and WMV. It also has a video, image editor and YouTube player for watching video from the popular video sharing site YouTube.

Other Features: Other features on the Samsung Galaxy Star Pro S2760 include the following: In terms of messaging, it has IM, Push Email, Email, MMS and SMS threaded view. It has the accelerometer sensors, comes with HTML browser, has the Java MIDP emulator for Java based apps. It also has an organizer, Google Maps, Gmail, Google Talk, Picasa, Google Search, Document viewer ( PDF, Word and Excel), predictive text input, voice dialing and voice memo.

Pros: It is an entry level smartphone with the basic feature of a smartphone such as a processor, RAM space, touch screen, document viewer and relatively fast internet data speed. It is better than any feature or basic phone.

Cons: The fact that it has features for an entry level smartphone basically means you will be missing out on a lot of things found on other better smartphones. Such as: faster processor coupled with a larger RAM space. Better screen resolution among other things.

Verdict: This phone is basically ideal for users who just want a low-end smartphone for one reason or the other. But the most likely reason would be that it is cost effective compared to the faster processing smartphones which are bound to cost more.
