Samsung Galaxy Core PlusSamsung announce the launch of the Samsung Galaxy Core Plus phone back in October 2013 and released it to the consumer market at the same month. This phone comes with some great features which Samsung hopes it will help it to reinforce its dominance of the smartphone market if not advance that dominance.

The Samsung Galaxy Core Plus phone has the following features. They include:

Design: This phone comes loaded with the Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) operating system. Weighs in at 132.5 grams and with a body dimension of 5.11×2.60×0.37 inches. It comes in a variety of three colors pink, black and white.

Display: It comes with a 4.3 Inched TFT capacitive touchscreen which can display more than 16 million colors. The screen has a resolution of 480×800 pixels and a pixel density of 217 ppi. The screen also has a multi-touch feature.

Hardware: Under the hood, the Samsung Galaxy Core Plus hides a Dual Core 1.2 GHz processor, coupled with an internal memory of 4 GB which can be expanded up to 64 GB using a microSD card.

Camera: In terms of camera properties, it has a 5MP camera which has auto focus, LED Flash, touch focus, geo-tagging and 2592×1944 resolution. Its front camera is a VGA camera.

Connectivity and Technology: In terms of technology it supports 2G Network (GSM), 3G Network (HSDPA) and also has the option of holding Dual SIM cards. It also has GPRS, EDGE, HSDPA, HSUPA, Wi-Fi 802.11, Bluetooth, NFC and microUSB (USB 2.0).

Battery: It packs an 1800 mAh Li-Ion battery that can deliver up to 320 hours of stand-by time, 9 hours of talk time and 40 hours of music playback.

Multimedia: It comes preloaded with a YouTube player, and a music player which arranges you music library in terms of playlist, artists, album, show cases album art cover and can play in the background. It supports the following formats of audio files: it supports FLAC, AC3, eAAC+, WAV and MP3. In terms of video files it supports H.263, H.264, WMV and MP4 files formats. Last but not least it comes with a Radio TBD.

Other Features: It also has the following features, SNS integration, image/video editor, organizer, document viewer, Gmail, Google Maps, Google Search, Google Talk, Picasa, voice dialing, voice memo, predictive text input and calendar. In terms of messaging it has RSS, Push Mail, Email, MMA and SMS threaded view. It has got proximity and accelerometer sensors, has a Java MIDP emulator to run Java based applications.

Pros: It has got some of the basic feature of a smartphone such as Android based OS, HSUPA data connection and NFC among others.

Cons: It has a very low resolution screen with and equally low pixel concentrations. The camera could use some improvement especially the front camera which has a very low resolution pixel.

Verdict: This phone is perhaps most suited for somebody who just want a smartphone without looking if it has the best features in the smartphone world.
