The Philips W7555 smartphone was released back in December 2013. It is a Dual SIM, Dual Standby smartphone which gives users the option of having two SIM cards online at the same time. This is a great advantage for those who have private and business phone number or would like two SIM cards at the same time, for one reason or the other.

Philips W7555 smartphone packs the following features:

Design: It has two SIM cards slots for supporting Dual SIM, Dual Standby feature. It weighs in at about 154 grams and has a body dimension of 136.8 x 68.5 x 13.1 mm. It comes loaded with Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) OS and comes in a choice of two colors: Red and Black.

Display: The Philips W7555 has a 4.5 Inched IPS LCD Display that has the following features: Capacitive, Multitouch, touchscreen and can display more than 16 million colors. The screen also has a resolution of 540×960 pixels with pixel density of 254 ppi.

Hardware: Under the hood, it packs a Quad Core 1.2 GHz processor backed with 1 GB of RAM and an internal storage capacity of 4 GB. This can be expanded further to up to 32 GB via a microSD card.

Camera: It features dual camera, with the rear camera being an 8 MP camera with a resolution of 3264 x 2448 pixels and other features like LED Flash, auto focus and geo tagging. It also has a front camera.

Connectivity and Technology: In terms of network technology, the Philips W7555 supports 2G Network (GSM 850/900/1800/1900) and 3G Network (HSDPA 900/2100). In terms of data connectivity it features GPRS, EDGE, HSDPA, HSUPA, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth 3.0 with A2DP, microUSB (USB 2.0).

Battery: It is powered by a 2400 mAh battery that can support up to 13 hours of talk time and 35 hours of music play.

Multimedia: It has a video playback that supports the following video files formats: H.263, H.264 and MP4. It also has a music player which will arrange you music library in terms of playlists, artist and albums. The music player supports the following formats of audio files: eAAC+, WAV and MP3.

Other Features: It has voice dialing/ memo, predictive text input, SNS integration, document viewer, active noise cancellation, HTML5 Browsing. In terms of messaging it supports Email, Push Mail, IM, MMS and SMS threaded view. It also has proximity and accelerometer sensors.

Pros: It has Dual SIM Dual Standby feature which is a plus to people who would rather not carry around two phones. It has a good resolution display which enhances the users’ video and graphics viewing experience.

Cons: In terms of smartphone, the 4.5 inched display is considered average or even small in other circumstances. It does not have 4G LTE connectivity.

Verdict: This phone can be classified as a middle range smartphone, hence suitable for an individual who is looking for a good enough smartphone that is also well within a limited budget.
