The Onda Twice smartphone is another phone from the past. It was officially released to the consumer market on August 2011 and can be said to have been around for quite some time now. It has the model N131 and it is also referred to as Onda Twice Dual SIM or Onda Twice N131 Dual Chip. The Onda Twice N131 comes packed with the following features:
Design: The Onda Twice N131 comes with the Proprietary OS which is upgradeable. Weighs in at 76 grams and has a body dimension of 100 x 56 x 12.5 mm. it is a Dual SIM, Dual Standby phone. It does not have an external antenna. It comes in a choice of four colors: Blue, Black, White and Purple.
Display: It has a 2.8 Inched TFT LCD Display which has the following characteristics: a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels, Resistive, Monotouch and can display about 260 thousand colors.
Hardware: Under the hood, it packs a Single Core processor, does not have any internal storage capacity but supports external storage on a microSD card of up to 2 GB.
Camera: It has only one camera which can be best described as an entry level camera due to the basic features it has. It has 0.3 MP rear camera with a resolution of 640 x 480 pixels. This camera is capable of 176 x 144 pixels video recording. It does not have more features as seen in today’s phones which would advance the users video and photo capturing capabilities.
Connectivity and Technology: In terms of network technology, the Onda Twice N131 phone supports GSM MHz (Dual Band 900/1800) and 2G Network (GSM 900/1800). In terms of data network the SIM 2 supports GPRS on SIM2 with a download speed that reaches 0.048 Mbps at maximum. In terms of connectivity is supports miniUSB (USB 1.1), has a 3.5 mm headphone connector and Bluetooth 2.0.
Battery: The Onda Twice N131 phone is powered by a 1000 mAh Li-Ion battery which is removable.
Multimedia: It has an FM Radio, a video playback that can play AVI formats of video files and a music player that plays WAV and MP3 audio files formats.
Other Features: It is equipped with a WAP web browser, has polyphonic & customized ringtones. It also has vibration alert feature.
Pros: This is a very basic phone, the only good thing about it is that it can call and send text messages. Considering the rest of its features and how much they have evolved since, there would be nothing much to say about them.
Cons: It does not have Wi-Fi, does not support Java, no useful sensor on this phone, no front camera, and no zoom/ flash/ autofocus features on its rear camera. The camera quality is poor and has a very slow internet connections.
Verdict: If you are looking for a smartphone then this phone would be the last phone on your mind. However if you are looking for just a basic phone, then this would be an ideal phone, though there is nothing particularly special about it in terms of good or bad when you are considering basic phones.
