The Onda Andy Smart phone has been in the market for quite some time now and has the model number N401. It was officially released back in March, 2011. Although it far from the current models being released in the market, but back in the days it was considered one of the best phones in the market. Like the say old is gold and Onda Andy N401 Smart phone has the following “goldy” features to boast about.
Design: It originally comes with the Android 2.2.1 (Froyo) OS, which is pretty much outdated by now, but you can update it. It weighs in at 113 grams and has a body dimension of 110 x 58.3 x 13.2 mm. unlike most phones at that time, it has an internal antenna. It is also a Dual SIM, Dual Standby phone and comes in a choice of three colors: Black, Red and White.
Display: It comes with a 3.2 Inched TFT LCD Display that has the following features: Multitouch, Capacitive, can display 260 thousand different colors and has a screen resolution on 320 x 480 pixels.
Hardware: Under the hood, Onda Andy N401 Smart packs a Single Core 600 MHz 32 bits Qualcomm MSM7227/ ARM processor, coupled by a 256 MB of RAM. It also has an internal storage capacity of 512 MB which can be expanded further using a microSD or microSDHC card to up to 32 GB.
Camera: It only has the rear camera which has a 3.1 MP with a resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels. The camera is capable of 640 x 480 pixels (30 fps) video recording.
Connectivity and Technology: In terms of mobile network technology, the Onda Andy N401 Smart supports GSM MHz (Quad-Band 850/900/1800/1900), 2G Network (GSM 850/900/1800/1900) and 3G Network (UMTS 900/2100). In terms of data connection, it supports 2G Network on its SIM 2 on GPRS and EDGE. In terms of connectivity it spots a microUSB (USB 2.0), 3.5 mm headphones connector, Bluetooth 2.1, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, GPS and A-GPS.
Battery: Onda Andy N401 Smart is powered by a 1500 mAh Lithium-Ion battery.
Multimedia: It has video playback which supports the following video files formats: H.264, H.263 and MP4. It also has a music player which supports the following audio files formats: WAV and MP3. It also has FM Radio.
Other Features: It has the HTML and XHTML type of Web Browser, it supports Java, has an accelerometer sensor and is equipped with the following type of phone alerts: vibrations, polyphonic and customized ringtones.
Pros: Considering the fact it is a phone manufacture in 2011, there is nothing much that can be said in terms of its strongholds other than it would be the perfect candidate for someone who is looking for a vintage phone.
Cons: It has a slow processor, small RAM size, poor camera qualities and small display with poor resolutions.
Verdict: They say old is gold, and the only reason this phone should be in use still is for people who have a deep appreciation for classical and vintage things. It would be a great artifact to collect in the case of a person who is a collector.
