America has decided to make its might also felt in the smartphone industry. An industry has that has largely been dominated by the South Korean manufacturer Samsung and other Eastern Countries. The American Electronics company released the O+ Imagine smartphone in Philippines just in time for the 2013 Christmas season. The O+ Imagine packs some of the best smartphone features currently in the market.
The features on the O+ Imagine smartphone, has shown potentially new competition for the already popular and well established smartphone manufacturer like Samsung, Nokia, Huawei and LG among others. The features found on the O+ Imagine are as listed below:
Design: O+ Imagine runs on Android 4.2.1 (Jelly Bean) operating system without a custom skin but has some neat features custom made by O+ which are much appreciated by many users. The phone weighs about 134 grams with a body size of 142.7×67.6×7.8 mm.
Display: It is packed with a 5 Inched FULL HD IPS Display. It has a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels and a pixel density of 441 ppi. Coupled with other features such as 5-point capacitive touch screen, ambient light, gravity and proximity sensors. It is made of scratch-resistant carbon glass
Hardware: Under the hood, the O+ Imagine smartphone packs a Quad Core 1.5 GHz ARM Cortex A7 CPU and a 357 MHz PowerVR SGX544 GPU which are made based on the MediaTek MT6589 Turbo SoC. It also has 2GB RAM and 32GB on internal storage.
Camera: It has a 13MP rear camera which has BSI, Flash, HDR, self timer, smile detection, multi-angle view, continuous shot, face beauty, Touch capture, FULL HD video recording, it can take pix as you are shooting video. It also has a 5MP front camera.
Connectivity and Technology: In terms of network technology support, the O+ Imagine supports Tri bans GSM/Dual band 3G. In terms of connectivity it has GPRS, EDGE, HSDPA and HSUPA. Alongside other features such as Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi, aGPS/GPS, microUSB (USB 2.0) and a 3.5mm audio headphones connector.
Battery: O+ Imagine is powered by a 2000 mAh Li-Po battery. Specific details on how much talk time, stand-by time, music and video playback is yet to be availed. But a 2000 mAh battery is a pretty strong battery and it’s expected to deliver top performance.
Multimedia: In terms of media, the O+ Imagine comes preinstalled with Skype, FB, Twitter, Chat and YM apps among others. It has a media player which can support the following audio files: MIDI, OGG, 3GPP, AAC, AMR and MP3. In terms of video files it supports 3GP, AVI, M4V, MKV and MP4.
Other Features: It also has the following features: breathing light function, OTA sync, flip to reject calls or to silent, shake to answer, noise reduction, USB OTG, direct to printer, voice SMS among others.
Pros: It has a big screen with a high resolution and high pixel density. It has a super fast processing power coupled by a big RAM space.
Cons: It does not support external memory expansion via a microSD card. The big size might not work so well for users who prefer having discreet phones.
Verdict: O+ Imagine smartphone is a good sturdy phone to have. It is not as popular as others makes from popular brands so if uniqueness is what appeals to you, then this is the phone to have.
