It was officially announced by Nokia back on 22nd October 2013 and released to the consumer market on the 4th quarter of the year 2013. Hardware: Nokia Asha 503 has internal storage capacity of 128 MB and can support memory expansion of up to 32GB by a microSD and a microSDHC.

Camera: Nokia Asha 503 has a 5MP rear-camera which has LED Flash, F2.4 Aperture size, 32mm Focal length and 1/4″ Camera sensor size. Other features include a self timer, digital zoom and white balance presets. It also has a Camcorder of 320×240 (QVGA) (15 fps).

Connectivity and Technology: It has 2 slots for SIM cards, supports GSM, UMTS, HSDPA, EDGE, GPRS, Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi 802.11, USB 2.0, USB charging, Computer sync, Tethering and OTA sync.

Battery: Nokia Asha 503 comes with a 1200 mAh battery that can support up to 12 hours of talk time, 35 days (840 hours) of stand-by time, 4.5 hours of 3G talk time.

Multimedia: It has a Music player that can filter your music library in terms of Albums, Playlists, Artists. It can also plays in the background. It has FM and Stereo Radio, and can play good sound through its loudspeaker and earpiece.

Other Features: It has a Nokia Xpress browser and come preinstalled with Twitter and Facebook apps. It has MP3 and polyphonic ringtones notifications as well as haptic feedback, vibration, silent mode, flight mode and speakerphone. It is also equipped with a voice recorder and an accelerometer.

Cons: It has really low pixel density display, with an equally low screen resolution. Its camera doesn’t have autofocus. The video capture resolution is also quite low, it doesn’t have ambient light sensor to adjust screen brightness automatically.

Verdict: Although it is a feature phone, it is definitely above average performance and thus suitable for a person looking to have a great phone but can’t afford a smartphone yet. It is a great compromise for a smartphone since its features are quite superior.
