Nokia Asha 502The Nokia Asha 502 Dual SIM feature phone was announced by Nokia back in 22 October 2013 and released it officially to the consumer market on the 4th quarter of 2013. It gives consumers a wider choice when it comes to the phone’s colors, as it comes in 6 different and amazing colors: black, red, white, green, yellow and blue.

Design: The Nokia Asha 502 is 3.92×2.34×0.44 inches in dimensions and weighs about 100g. This makes it a relatively small phone, and quite convenient for those who find it uncomfortable to walk around with large sized phones in their pockets or handbags.

Display: Asha 502 has a 3 inched LCD Display with 240×320 pixels resolution. The screen has 133 ppi pixel density and about 262,144 colors spectrum. The screen is multi-touch with a Proximity sensor feature.

Hardware: Nokia Asha 502 has a RAM of 64MB and it can support up to 32GB on external memory via a microSDHC and microSD.

Camera: The camera quality on the Asha 502, is a 5 MP rear camera that has got a LED Flash, F2.4 Aperture size, 32mm Focal length, ¼” Camera sensor among other features which include; Digital zoom, Self timer and a White balance presets. It also has a 320×240 (QVGA) (15 fps) Camcorder.

Connectivity and Technology: It comes preinstalled with Facebook and Twitter apps. It terms of technology it has GSM, EDGES, GPRS, Wi-Fi Positioning, Cell ID, 2 slots for SIM cards. It terms of connectivity it features a Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi 802.11, USB 2.0, USB Charging, Computer sync, OTA sync and Tethering.

Battery: Asha 502 comes with a 1010 mAh battery that can support up to 13.7 hours of talk time, 24 days (576 hours) of stand-by mode time.

Multimedia: When it comes to multimedia the Nokia Asha 502 has a loudspeaker and a good music player that can arrange your music library in terms of artists, albums and playlists.

Other Features: It has MP3 and polyphonic ringtones notifications. Other includes vibrations, silent mode, speakerphone, flight mode, haptic feedback, voice recording and accelerometer.

Pros: It is small and discrete in size, which is appropriate for users who don’t like a bulging phone in their pocket or filling the handbag space. It also supports two SIM cards at the same time which is another great advantage.

Cons: The shortcoming on the Nokia Asha 502 can be summarized as: it has slow internet browsing speed with just EDGE and GPRS connection. The screen has low pixel density and an equally low display resolution making video playback unappealing compared to other phones in the market. Its camera doesn’t have autofocus and captures really low resolution videos. It also doesn’t have ambient light sensor which automatically adjust screen brightness.

Verdict: The Asha 502 is a decent phone delivering above average performance. It is a good value for money.
