HTC Desire Eye belongs to the mid range smartphones available in market considering the price of it. The handset is released on November, 2014 and has a kind of unusual camera setup. HTC Desire Eye which they are calling the best selfie handset consist of two camera both of 13MP on front and back sides with two tone LED flash. The Taiwanese manufacturer of the smartphone designed it as a mid range category handset. But the hardware setup inside it tells a complete different story. With Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 and 5.2 inches, 1080 P display with Boomsound stereo speakers this is the hidden flagship smartphone from HTC. If you are a selfie lover, then this the perfect device for you.
Design:
The body is of 5.97” length with 2.91” width and 0.33” thickness that has a weight of 154grams. The body is waterproof under 1 meter of water and up to 30 minutes. Although the body is made of plastic but still its quite light and comfortable in hand.
Display:
The 5.2” display with 424 ppi density this is definitely something that stands out from the other mid range gimmicks on the market. the display is capable of showing images at 1080 x 1920 pixels. It has gorilla glass protection and HTC sense UI 6.0
Hardware:
The hardware consist of quadcore Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 process that runs at 2.3 GHz with GPU of Adreno 330. The RAM size is 2GB and internal storage size is 16GB. There is also a card slot that can extend the storage space to up to 128GB.
Camera:
There are two 13MP camera on both sides of the body, which makes it an exceptional device that enables it to capture the most stunning selfies. The gigantic camera with dual LED flash light with HDR toning makes it a dream come true for the selfie lovers.
Connectivity and Technology:
The HTC Desire Eye supports all the available networks on 2g, 3g, 4g network with GPRS capability of Up to 107 kbps and EDGE capacity of Up to 296 kbps and has high speed Wi-Fi and Blue-tooth. The phone uses a nano sim for connecting to the network.
Battery:
The HTC Desire Eye comes with a non removable Li-ion 2400 mAh battery that offers upto 538hours of standby time and 20 hours of 3g talktime. It also has quick charge 2.0 feature that let the battery to be charged quickly. HTC claims that you can add 60% battery life within only 30 minutes.
Multimedia and Other Features:
The HTC Desire Eye runs on Android 4.4.4 kitkat. This smartphone comes with a Boomsound stereo speakers with built-in amplifier that matches its bigger display for better video watching experience while you are traveling. The camera features include Geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, panorama, HDR. It has sensors like Accelerometer, gyro, proximity, compass. It can play all types of audio and video files smoothly.
Pros:

Cons:
- Plastic made design might become a turn off for some.
- The battery is good but could be much better.
Verdict:
This is a selfie centric handset. But ignoring the front facing 13MP camera amd comparing with the competitor Sony Xperia C3, Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime and Nokia Lumia 730 it still a better choice for poeple looking for a mid range handset.
