Battery: Comes with a removable Li-Ion 2100 mAh battery with talk time and stand-by time are not known yet.

Multimedia: HTC Desire 501 has a Music play, YouTube player, Google Search, Maps, Gmail,YouTube, Calendar, Google Talk application. It also can play music and video formats in the range of MP4, MP3. For messaging, it has threaded view SMS, MMS, Email, Push Email. It comes with pre-installed HTML5 browser and Stereo FM radio.

Pros: This smartphone has a front camera of 2.1 megapixel and rear camera of 8 mega pixel making it quite unique compared to its manufacturer’s counterparts in the same series.

Cons: It has low processing and computational power due to low version of OS and Processor and the manufacturer doesn’t state the life length of its battery for talk time, stand-by or even music play time.

Verdict: HTC Desire 501 is a great device for mid-range smartphone users who are not concerned with some much need for complex computational and processing power. For the Asian Taiwanese manufacturer, this will be a great test to see if they can survive the massive competition from rival players in the industry.
