The Butterfly models might not be the leading phones for the HTC although they have proved to be highly resourceful in this brand. Build on a HTC Sense 6; the trademark stereo speakers and a solid screen, The HTC Butterfly 2 have a good foundation in terms of price, style, performance and class.

Design: The HTC Butterfly 2 runs on Android 4.4.2 kit Kat with Sense 6 UI. It weighs 151 grams. Coming in three colors; white, red and blue the HTC Butterfly 2 has got a very unique shape within the company’s flagship, with a flat front and curves at the right places and stereo speaker’s grilles. With its glossy plastic, this phone stands out with the “hottest” body in the market.

Display: Just like HTC One (E8) and HTC One (M8), the HTC Butterfly 2 has 1080 x 1920px 5” panel. This makes the phone to have a very impressive Touch-Screen pixel density of about 441ppi.

Hardware: The HTC Butterfly 2 uses Qualcomm Snap dragon 801 chipset that runs the 2.5 GHz quad-core Krait 400 CPU with a 2GB of Random Access Memory and Adreno 330 GPU. HTC Butterfly 2 has 32 GB of in-built memory and a microSD slot which offers support for up to 128GB storage.

Connectivity and Technology: Most of the HTC Butterfly 2 connectivity features have matches the HTC One (M8). In that, the model still has LTE support, quad-band GSM and 3G. Its Local Wireless Connectivity encompasses DLNA support and Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac for both server and client, for music, videos and images. It also has got stereo Bluetooth 4.0 that has an aptX codec of higher-quality. An IR port has also been fitted on it to give allowance for controls over devices such as TVs as well as Ac unit and digital cameras with the use of software. Pros: HTC Butterfly 2 has got the ability to go up to one meter deep under water and still function perfectly. The phone is also dust proof.

Cons: HTC Butterfly 2 has got non-user replaceable battery its glossy plastic easily gets scratched and smudged and as well has got no HDR video, OIS or 4K video recording.

Verdict: The ultimate test depends on how this Smartphone will thrive in the market given that there are also other brands that have been released by the same manufacturer.
