The Cherry Mobile Flare S8 which comes from Flare Series of Cherry Mobile is another affordable phone priced around PHP 3999. It also comes with two other versions of S8 Pro and the Flare S8 Plus.
In this article, we reviewed the Cherry Mobile Flare S8.
Design:
When it comes to design, the Cherry Mobile Flare S8 is a smooth one with a lustrous polycarbonate body. With headset grill on top, at the front is its 6.26-inch HD+ display accompanied by an excellent front camera that is quite suitable for selfies if the need be.
At the upper left-hand corner where we have the fingerprint sensor below it is dual camera setup when you turn the camera.
In addition to this gadget is a MicroUSB interface and the 3.5millimeter audio jack, that is pretty exceptional as most mobiles have the USB interface at the base. At the base are speaker and mic grille, whereas the volume rocker and power are set on the left side.
All in all, the Flare S8 does not feel to be an entry phone. It’s a fantastic size to it and can be pretty light also. Perhaps, it would have been preferable to have the speaker grille to be on the right instead of the left to avoid covering it when in landscape mode. The telephone has a chin, that can be convenient whilst holding the device in landscape style, but using it trimmed a bit wouldn’t hurt.
The rear is somewhat the fingerprint magnet due to its shiny end. Thankfully, it includes a jelly instance from this box. One thing which sticks out when considering the Flare S8 from the trunk is its fingerprint scanner that does not quite fit the gradient purple/blue colouring of their gadget.
Display:
The Cherry Mobile Flare S8 comes with a 6.26 inches display in size alongside its HD+ 720 x 1520 pixels in the resolution which makes it easy for you to view images and videos in Full HD+ and above.
On the sound aspect, the loud-speaker provides decent quality too. At maximum volume, the sound from the mobile can travel to a far distance. There is nothing so special in this. It’s only a fantastic thing which the sound does not seem tinny even at the maximum volume setting.
When you’ve got small hands, tapping the tall screen demands two handed use. The display is very bright, and that is one thing to love about it. Without slipping to full-brightness, the screen might offer readable and clear graphics along with text under some light requirements.
The colours will appear subdued, and the details aren’t that sharp. Even only by taking a look at the icons in your home screen, you will observe they do not appear as eloquent. If you aren’t overly fussy on the calibre of the graphics, then, by all means, the Flare S8’s will do for the messaging, surfing, and social networking.
Hardware:
The Flare S8 is packed with a MediaTek Helio P23 with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. Sure, 32GB internal storage doesn’t sound too big, especially nowadays, but it can be expanded to up to 128GB via microSD. The downside to it all, however, is that you either have a microSD or a second SIM in there.
Camera
As far as the camera goes, the Flare S8 packs a dual rear 13MP main and 2MP secondary camera, along with a 13MP front camera.
The camera is of average quality if it is something to go by. The rear camera features modes like Panorama, GIF, Beauty Video, Pro, Time Lapse, Beauty, and of course, Bokeh.
Battery:
Cherry Mobile Flare S8 has a battery capacity of 2800 mAh. This is not what you can be able to do everything with for a long time, but it may last when used moderately.
Connectivity:
Cherry Mobile Flare S8 fully supports 2G (EDGE & GPRS), 3G (HSPA+) and 4G (LTE).

Verdict:
At just PHP 3,999, it is suitable for its specs and price. It does most of what an average smartphone is capable of doing. The Cherry Mobile Flare S8 is a simple phone for a tighter budget.
