The BlackBerry z30 is here to just prove otherwise and put a stop to the nay Sayers. This phone has been launched in time of manufacturer crisis and it’s going to be looked as a savior.

Let’s delve into the features that make this smartphone stand out in the already crowded smartphone market place.

Design: It runs on BlackBerry 10.2 OS. Has a body dimension of 5.54 x 2.83 x 0.37 inches, weighs 170 g. At the bottom is an aluminum chin, which is a single piece of metal that connects to the frame of the device, holding the chassis together. Sandwiched between the chin and the display is the BlackBerry logo. Its comes in black color only.

Display: BlackBerry Z30 take the competition a notch higher by introducing a Super AMOLED capacitive Multi-touchscreen with a screen size of 720 x 1280 pixels, 5.0 inchesand 294 ppi pixel density and over 16M color. The screen also senses proximity, acceleration, compass direction and gyro.

Hardware:It goes without saying that this is one of the powerful machines in the market given that it has a 2 GB RAM, Qualcomm MSM8960T Pro Snapdragon system chipset, Dual-core 1.7 GHz Krait CPU and Adreno 320 graphics processor. In addition to the inbuilt 16 GB memory, it has a microSD slot for memory expansion of up to 64 GB.

Camera:With a8 MP, 3264 x 2448 pixels, autofocus, LED flash, check quality, Geo-tagging, face detection, image stabilization and HDR, this camera beats most midrange smartphone cameras. If you wondering about video capture capability, Yes 1080p@30fps, video stabilization is what it offers. The front camera is 2.0 mega pixel with 720p@30fps video capture features.

Connectivity and Technology:This smart phone connects to mobile network operators through all the available technologies; GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900, HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1900 / 2100 / 800, LTE 800 / 900 / 1800 / 2100 / 2600. Data communication is enabled through GPRS and EDGE with speeds of HSDPA, HSUPA, LTE. WLAN – Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, dual-band, Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi hotspot. Battery:BlackBerry Z30 uses Li-Ion 2880 mAh battery that has talk time of Up to 384 hours  and stand-by time of Up to 25 hours on 2G and Up to 18 hours on 3G networks and an option of wireless recharging.

Multimedia: Feature Multimedia capabilities include SMS, MMS, Email, Push Email, IM, BBM 6, HTML5, Adobe Flash though it has no stereo radio which is compensated for by the MP3 and MP4 player.

Other Miscellaneous Feature: these include Voice memo/dial, Predictive text input,Active noise cancellation with dedicated mic, SNS integration, HDMI port, BlackBerry maps, Organizer, Document editorPhoto/video editor.

Pros: This smartphone has a long battery life which can be charged wirelessly in addition to the memory extensibility.

Cons: Has no Stereo radio and it’s a little heavier compared to other smartphones in its league.

Verdict: Given this smartphone is released into the market in a time when its management is under tremendous crisis while at the same time other plays in the industry are about to release other competing products, only time will tell how its fairs on in the market.
