BlackBerry Q5The BlackBerry Q5 is manufactured predominantly for youthful social enthusiasts. Design: This smartphone runs the BlackBerry 10.0 O.S which can be upgraded to 10.1 version. It weighs 120g and has a uni-body design of body dimension of 4.72 x 2.60 x 0.43 inches. QWERTY keyboard and power button on top of the device and a loudspeaker on button on the side plus a rubber surface that enhances grip.

Hardware: The BlackBerry Q5 runs a Dual-core 1.2 GHz CPU, has 2 GB RAM, and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 4system chipset. It has built-in memory capacity of 8 GB and an additional slot for the microSD for memory extensibility of up to 32 GB.

Camera: The camera has Geo-tagging, touch focus, image stabilization feature and it’s made up of 5 MP, 2592х1944 pixels, autofocus and an LED flash. Due to 1080p@30fps the camera captures videos and can do video stabilization. It also features a front view camera which is made of 2 MP, 720p.

Connectivity and Technology: The phone uses GPRS and EDGE for data communications with range of speed of DC-HSPA+, 42 Mbps; HSDPA; LTE, Cat3, 50 Mbps UL, 100 Mbps DL. It connects to mobile network providers through GSM, HSDPA and LTE technologies. WLAN Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth v4.0 with A2DP, LE. MicroUSB v2.0and NFC all are inbuilt.

Battery: This smartphone functions on a non-removable Li-Ion 2180 mAh battery. The battery has a stand-by time of up to 336 hours and talk time of up to 12 h 30 min on a 3G network.

Multimedia: It comes with MP3 and MP4 players, other supported audio technologies include; WMA, WAV, eAAC+, Xvid, WMV, MKV, H.263, H.264. Also pre-installed are BlackBerry maps, SNS integration,Voice memo and voicedial.

Other Features: The other normal features found in almost all BlackBerry phones are the Predictive text input, Organizer, Document viewer and Photo viewer and Photo editor.

Pros: Other than the Multi-touch screen, it has a QWERTY keypad that makes messaging fun. Touch screen is responsive and has a microSD slot for memory expansion.

Cons: Small screen due to presence of the keyboard, camera resolution is relatively low and runs on a non-removable battery.

Verdict: BlackBerry Q5 is a great purchase for the users who require a physical keyboard since it offers faster and accurate typing.
