Display: This is one of the only phones with an optical Trackpad on its IPS capacitive touchscreen which has 214 ppi pixel density, screen size of 480 x 360 pixels, 2.8 inches of more than 16M colors. This screen too has acceleration and proximity sensors.

Design: The Operating system it runs is BlackBerry OS 7.1, has a body dimension of 4.49 x 2.60 x 0.47 inches, weighs120 g and a QWERTY keyboard. To satisfy a wide variety of visual appeal, the manufacture produces this phones in different colors ranging from Black, White, Purple, Blue, Pure to Pink.

Hardware: To understand performance, BlackBerry 9720 has a CPU of 806 MHz Tavor MG1, 512 MB RAM, 512 MB ROM, and microSD slot for memory extension of up to 32 GB.

Camera: This phone comes with a 5 MP, 2592×1944 pixels, LED flash able to perform Geo-tagging and image stabilization. It can also takes video due to cameras 480p@30fps features.

Battery: The battery in use is Li-Ion 1450 mAh which can stand-by for Up to 432 hour, play music for 30 hours and has an outstanding talk time of Up to 7 hours.

Multimedia: The BlackBerry 9720 comes installed with Stereo FM radio with RDS, SMS(threaded view), MMS, Email, Push Email, IM, HTML browser, A-GPS support and WMV player for MP4 and Flac player for MP3.

Other Features: In-built BBM key, Predictive text input, Organizer, Document viewer and Voice memo/dial

Pros: The phone is broader, brighter and has a relatively easy to manipulate keyboard, Its surface has a rubber texture that enhances grip.

Cons: This phone has a low RAM therefore a low processing power in addition to lack of front camera that most competing phones has.

Verdict: The BlackBerry 9720 is best suited for users with no need for high performance and speed. It works pretty well and can handle most of the functions its feature outlines above without hanging. It is best choice for user looking to upgrade from using a feature phone.
