This is phone model is part of the recently launched phones of the Titanium series from Archos. Like the rest of the Titanium and Platinum series it also has a Dual SIM, Dual Standby feature. These phones were launched during the 2013 IFA event. The Archos 45 Titanium has the following features:
Design: The Archos 45 Titanium comes with 2 slots for SIM cards: SIM 1 slot is for 2G Network (GSM/GPRS/ EDGE 850/900/1800/1900 MHz) and SIM 2 slot supports 2G & 3G Network (WCDMA 900/2100). It comes with the Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean) OS, weighs in at 152 grams and has a body dimension of 133.8 x 68.2 x 10 mm.
Display: It is fitted with a 4.5 Inched TFT Display which has other features like Multitouch, Capacitive, a resolution of 854 x 480 pixels (FWVGA) and a pixel density of 220 ppi. The screen can display a color range of over 16 million colors.
Hardware: Underneath the cover, the Archos 45 Titanium spots a Dual Core 1.3 GHz MT 6572 Processor, coupled by a 512 MB of RAM and a 4 GB internal storage capacity. The storage capacity can be further expanded using a microSD card.
Camera: Like most smartphones, it also has dual cameras. The rear camera has a 5 MP camera with features such as LED Flash, auto focus and can record 720p videos. On the front, it has a VGA camera.
Connectivity and Technology: In terms of connectivity the Archos 45 Titanium smartphone features the following: Mini SIM cads, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth 3.0 with A2DP and EDR. Has a 3.5 mm headphones connector and a microUSB (USB 2.0) which is used to synchronize the phone as well as charge it.
Battery: The Archos 45 Titanium is powered by a 1689 mAh battery while the exact standby time and talk time which it can support has yet to be certified conclusively.
Multimedia: This smartphone can give you video playback on the following video files formats: 3GP, AVI, MP4 and H.264 up to 720p resolution. It also has a music player which supports the following types of audio files formats: MP3, AAC, AAC+ 5.1, OGG Vorbis and WAV (ADPCM/ PCM). It also has a photo viewer which can support the following types of photo formats: PNG, GIF, BMP and JPEG. It also has a loudspeaker which you can use in place of the earphone and headphones.
Other Features: It comes with the following types of alerts: MP3 & WAV ringtones and vibrations. In terms of messaging it comes with Email, Push Mail, MMS and SMS threaded view.
Pros: The Archos 45 Titanium has a high screen resolution which essentially mean you will enjoy viewing videos and its GUI graphics.
Cons: The RAM size on this phone is too small, at just 512 MB this limits the amount of multiple application you can run concurrently.
Verdict: The Archos 45 Titanium smartphone is suitable for a user who is comfortable with having an entry level smartphone. Although you will be able to enjoy some basic smartphone features, but it will be far from what the high-end smartphones can do and accomplish.
