Archos 40 TitaniumLike all the phones in the Titanium series, the Archos 40 Titanium is a Dual SIM Dual Standby phone. Archos released the Titanium series back in 2013 during the IFA event. With the Archos 40 Titanium, the features it offered to its customers with it are as follows:

Design: The Archos 40 Titanium has two SIM cards slots with slot 1 supporting only 2G network, (GSM/GPRS, EDGE/850/900/1800/1900 MHz) while slot 2 supports 2G and 3G network (WCDMA 900/2100). It comes loaded with the Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean) OS. It has a body dimension of 125 x 65 x 8.5 mm and it weighs in at 124 grams.

Display: It is equipped with a 4 Inched TFT Display that has the following features, Capacitive, Multitouch, can display more than 16 million colors, a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels (WVGA).

Hardware: Under the hood, the Archos 40 Titanium smartphone packs a Dual Core 1.3 GHz MT 6572 processor, coupled by a 512 MB of RAM. It also has an internal storage capacity of 4 GB which can be expanded further by a microSD Card.

Camera: It comes with dual camera, the rear camera possessing a 5MP camera which has got LED Flash and autofocus features. It is also capable of recording 720p videos. The front camera is a 0.3 MP camera which will allow you to take selfies.

Connectivity and Technology: In terms of connectivity the Archos 40 Titanium has mini SIM, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi hotspots, UpnP, DNLA, Bluetooth 3.0 with A2DP and EDR, a 3.5 mm headphone connector, microUSB (USB 2.0) for synchronizing files as well as charging the phone.

Battery: The Archos 40 Titanium smartphone is powered by a 1500 mAh battery that can keep it running for up to 150 hours of standby time, 12 hours of talk time on 2G network and 9.5 hours of talk time on 3G network.

Multimedia: The Archos 40 Titanium smartphone gives you video playback function which can support the following formats of video files: 3GP/ MP4/ AVI & H.264 up to 720p resolution. In terms of audio playback functions, it supports the following audio files formats: AAC, OGG Vorbis, AAC+, MP3, WAV (ADPCM/ PCM). It also supports the following types of photo files: GIF, BMP, JPEG and PNG. It also has loudspeaker capabilities for playing music and video without the headphones.

Other Features: It supports the following types of phone alerts: WAV/ MP3 ringtones and vibrations. In terms of messaging it supports Email, Push Mail, MMS and SMS threaded view.

Pros: The Archos 40 Titanium smartphone an impressive rear camera of 5 MP, although this is not high-end camera features, but it is fairly within the mid-range camera features.

Cons: It has a small display, with comparatively poor resolution, the RAM size and processor speed are of low quality which essentially means running multiple applications would be faced with hanging and very slow execution.

Verdict: The Archos 40 Titanium smartphone can be classified as an entry level smartphone and thus suitable for individual wishing to enjoy some of the smartphone features at a relatively affordable price.
